Biography

Valeriy Kondratyuk was born 1 January 1970 in Kirovograd Region of Ukraine.

Education

Graduated from the Kiev Higher Combined Arms Command twice Red Banner School named after Frunze.

1995 - Kiev State Linguistic University, Faculty of Foreign Languages;

1996 - Academy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, faculty of military-diplomatic service;

1996 - NATO Staff Officers Course at the Netherlands Armed Forces War College;

1997 - Canadian Armed Forces Intelligence and Security School;

1998 - Course of the US FBI Anti-Terrorism Academy;

2014 - National Academy of Security Council of Ukraine.

Fluent in English and German. Ph.D. in Economics.

Career

1991 - commander of a special-purpose group 260 of a separate special-purpose detachment (military unit 83484, Kirovograd).

1992 - 1994 - assistant to the Head of the Intelligence and Information Department of the 9th Separate Special-purpose Brigade (military unit A0759, Kirovograd).

1996 - 1999 - Served as officer in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

1999 - 2002 - military attaché at the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.

2002 - 2004 - Senior Operations Officer, Head of the Operations Group - Deputy Head of Division and Head of the Department of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

In 2004, became part of Igor Smeshko's team and joined the SBU, was in charge of the SBU for communication with foreign intelligence services.

In 2010, after the announcement of the results of the presidential elections, made a decision to resign from the military service.

In 2014, was appointed by Alexander Turchinov as Head of the Counterintelligence Department of the SBU.

July 2015 - Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.

2016 - 2019 - Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, in charge of special services.

2020 - present - Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.

Operational record

In 2015 initiated the installation of the Cossack the Winner monument in honor of the ATO veterans outside the building of the Security Service in Kiev.
