BIOGRAPHY
Born on September 18, 1979 in Kyiv.
Leonid Kryuchkov has three master's degrees: National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (specialty - industrial marketing), Kyiv National Economic University (specialty - international business management) and the University named after Makarov (specialty – maritime logistics).
In 2006, Kryuchkov became a Candidate of Economic Sciences.
His parents, Vasily Kryuchkov and Tatiana Kryuchkova, are retired.
He has been divorced since 2016.
Children – Varvara (born in 2006) and Fyodor (born in 2009).
CAREER
Since 1997, he starts working in companies that hire students.
From 2001 to 2003, he worked at Raiffeisenbank Ukraine.
From 2004 to 2008, after the purchase of the controlling stake in JSC Kyivrekonstruktsiia, he headed the company as Chairman of the Board.
From 2014 to 2015, he was Deputy Director of Ukrinmash, which was part of the concern Ukroboronprom.
Since 2016, he has been engaged in his own business projects in construction, real estate, logistics, and energy.
Leonid Kryuchkov owns ORUM logistics group, which is engaged in port activities. ORUM employs about 1,000 people and specializes in agency services, cargo transshipment, bunkering, and other types of port activities. Companies use their diesel fleet, towing vehicles, and various transport and transshipment devices.
The media also established that the businessman owns a number of business centers and other real estate in Kiev.
MEDIA MENTIONS
Kryuchkov's companies regularly get into journalists’ analytical reviews. For example, the Kryuchkov brothers - Leonid and Dmitry - are called the beneficiaries of operations to buy nuclear power companies – South-Ukrainian, Khmelnytsky and Rivne nuclear power plants. Leonid Kryuchkov also owns and heads the Sub-Council of SVEMON JSC, which united about 40 enterprises that lay telecommunications lines and install security systems.
According to media reports, the Kryuchkov brothers, bought a controlling stake in Neftegazstroy JSC and Ukrneftegazstroy JSC to sell it to other owners after restructuring.
The media believe that the Kryuchkovs owned 30% of the shares of Kharkiv Energy Project JSC. The company is a general designer for Zaporizhzhia and South-Ukrainian NPPs.
According to the media, in 2018 Leonid Kryuchkov, after buying 56 million UAH from the State Property Fund through the controlled Weis-Trade LLC , was included in the Supervisory Board of UkrTVS. A few years earlier, the company had planned to start building a nuclear fuel plant on the territory of Ukraine.
POLITICAL ACTIVITY
Leonid Kryuchkov was a Kiev Council deputy in 2006-2007. In 2019, he ran for the MP from the Opposition Party for Life. He refused to go to Parliament in 2022.
CONNECTIONS
The media reported that Kryuchkov is friends with Sergei Berezenko and Igor Kononenko, who were influential MPs under President Poroshenko.
In one of the interviews, Kryuchkov confirmed the information that for many years he had friendly relations with Viktor Kudryavtsev, who for a long time held the position of Deputy Prosecutor General.
After splitting the business with his brother Dmitry in 2009, the brothers broke off communication and still do not communicate. Both independently confirmed this fact in their interviews.
Leonid Kryuchkov's brother Dmitry owned the energy company Energomerezha. In 2017, he was charged with stealing money and placed on an international wanted list.
CHARITY
On the ORUM group website, which is managed and owned by Leonid Kryuchkov, there is a Charity section. ORUM actively cooperates with EDUKIDS and EUROCHILD, which are educational projects for children.
